1. All stainless steel wire raw materials are produced using external refining methods such as AOD or VOD. From mold casting to continuous casting, the surface quality, inclusions, and segregation of the materials have been improved, creating favorable conditions for large-scale production and greatly reducing production costs.
2. The production process of stainless steel wire is developing towards continuity. The characteristic of its production process is that the wire rod is first peeled to completely remove the surface defects left by hot rolling. Except for acid washing during the initial heat treatment, the entire cold processing process always maintains a bright surface without the need for acid washing. Resin coating is used to make the coating and de coating operations convenient, and there is no moisture regain after coating. The total reduction rate of drawing is over 90%, and the size accuracy and surface quality of the produced stainless steel wire are greatly improved.
3. Advanced production equipment such as direct wire drawing machines and bright annealing furnaces will be widely used, greatly improving labor productivity and further reducing production costs.
4. Development of new varieties of stainless steel. At present, the domestic production of stainless steel wire is constantly increasing every year, but there is still a lack of variety in steel. New varieties that meet different needs should be developed, such as micro filaments, stainless steel fibers, non-magnetic stainless steel wire, etc.
